    Hi Meleana,

Who do you have your domain name with? Also what type of website are you looking to create? A blog, an ecommerce website, a business information website?

Have you checked with your local ISP?

I run a web site on my computer at home and have a Static IP address. They host my domain name on their computer for a little amount....

I got my domain at 1and1.com

Just an informational site for my business.  So I can list rates and services and post pics, email for my clients, maybe later on photos for them to view. I email them now.

If you are looking for a simple information site there are a lot of ways to go about this but I would really recommend having someone host your site for you.  Normally to get a static IP that will cost about $100 a month or so where you could pay for hosting for the whole year with that.  Secondly when you have your site hosted somewhere they do databackups and are able to provide the bandwidth and stability that you would need that your home computer normally couldn't.  Just think how often do you restart your machine.  If you do that then your site is down until you bring it backup.

If you would like, I know NetworkSolutions has a 30 day MBG on their hosting and with their hosting you can use their ImageCafe tool which can get you a very simple and professional site up and running in a few minutes.  Also you could try out using wordpress or another CMS like Joomla, Drupal or others to setup your information site very quickly.  Also with those CMS systems you can apply a template to them very easily to make your site look more professional with out having to get a full custom design.   Lastely if you did want to try any these apps on NetworkSolutions hosting they are simple one click installs so you won't actually have to do any manual setup except adding in your content.
