Time, IT infrastructure and the top of all the human resources have to be, not only managed but ensured that customer are satisfied by the service being offered. Some suggestions regarding these are:

Use outsourced manpower: Using outsourced manpower during peak season may be better than to have full time regular workers, who cost more and may need to be trained. Getting a well trained workforce with required skills that can start the work right from the word go saves a lot of cost and get the things done in time. The only caution: Quality check.

Have software application Hosted: Small business use different types of application such as accounting application, CRM software and Tax applications. Hosting accounting application such as QuickBooks, MyOb , and tax software such as Lacerte and Proseries is an excellent way to use Cloud computing technologies for business growth. For example QuickBooks hosting allows anytime anywhere access to accounting files makes collaboration among multiple users possible and comes with multiple data backup which is more secured compared to local data backup. On the top of it you get 24×7x365 technical help desk support. Not only can you manage the business better you are better placed to use outsourced workforce in a more productive way.

CRM hosting: Just like QuickBooks and tax application hosting, use of CRM software is an excellent way of managing and responding to customers in a more efficient way. One may go for CRM software hosting as well. The best CRM i have identified is ACT! By Sage CRM hosting.

Social networking: Social networking is an excellent tool to know about the latest business trends, make friends online and recruit cheap and efficient workers. Use it to increase your business as well. Nothing promotes your business better than social networking.

Business evaluation: Do not forget to evaluate your business model from time to time and setting new goals. Aimless business growth may be straining to the business. So, keeping a tab on business growth, forecasting future growth is an essential component of today’s business environment.

I'm still playing with Social Networking, both on my iTouch/iPhone and on my computer with tools such as blogger, LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace etc... One of the tools I've mentioned before is Twinkle, Twinkle is a chat room for lack of better world, I'm sure they'll come up with a glorious title saying it's a Web 2.0 empowered application using the 3G iPhone network, but in reality it's less functional than what I was using with CompuServe and Delphi back in the early 1990's (I'm getting old, but I'm also getting wiser ;)).

One of the interesting features with the iPhone is that it has a very nice camera, it also is GPS enabled, this allows a person to send a picture of what's going on near them, and for you to see about where they are at. The other day I started seeing pictures of a tornado running through Parker Colorado, about an hour after that I saw similar pictures on CNN. Think about it, these people scooped CNN on a news story, pretty impressive if you ask me. I've seen similar issues, I've seen reports of a heavy storm coming through the area, and people talking about damage, I've seen people around the country talk at the same time about how a movie (the same movie) stopped just before the end (of course this is because the theater is receiving a stream of the movie via satellite or web and the stream died). If I had the resources I'd write a program to sit and sniff twitter traffic to see what's going on in the world.

There are sad portions on this also, I've run into a number of people with relationship issues that are either having bad problems or just need to be cheered up. I'm always trying to be helpful, but not everyone wants help, and I've made it clear that anyone can come to me for assistance. I've also seen several bullies online, some have tried to pick fights with me, but I'm old enough where I don't blow up like they want me to (this of course drives them nuts, they want reaction, I don't think most people realize the best way to beat a bully is to ignore them).

I've also heard a bunch of issues with stalking going on, I've gotten a few requests for information that I ignore, it's mostly the women who are getting stalked and asking for things that they shouldn't be asked for (am I the last Gentleman online?). I do follow a couple of kids from time to time, because they seem so young and I feel they need adult supervision, I'm very happy to see that they are keeping their public noses clean (hopefully nothing is going on in the private area). Many of these kids need something other to do then being handed an iPhone and told to go keep busy.

I've been able to discuss politics with different people from around the world, see how people outside the US see the US (it isn't great right now). This morning I got on and one of my "friends", he lives in Florida, was getting torn apart by someone else. Despite I don't agree with my "friend's" politics, I didn't take kindly to anyone attacking him, so I stepped in and mentioned that he was a good guy and should be treated that way. Also this morning another one of my "friends" got laid off, she's in London, it seems that there are a lot of layoffs going on in that area now, the financial issues of the US are catching up to them. I've been able to make friends with people, old and young, who I might possibly have made friends with before (anyone who knows me will tell you that I absolutely love everyone). As I'm writing this I just learned that another "friend" in Georgia has just quit a job, she's going to bury her pain in donuts this morning.

The great parts about this? I was mentioning to someone in the public area how my mother had passed away in December of 2003, almost instantly I had several people expressing their condolences, I was touched to see so many people in the world care. I think a couple of us started crying as we discussed our parents (OK I cried, but that's what I do, it was a very manly cry though ;)).

I have been able to listen into people and get some great ideas from them (I wish I had a lot of research and development money right now, I'm sure I could make it a lot more with a few of the ideas I currently have). I'm also surprised about how many people don't know what Web 2.0 is or Social Networking, they have this idea that Twinkle, Twitter, Blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc... are all the same thing, but they aren't, they are all different and all have their own niche. Maybe I should write a book about all this?

Photoshop Tips To Help You Learn Photoshop Fast

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Can't get rid of that nasty shine that you get taking pictures? Well now you can, follow these easy steps:

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Let's start with a great, overlooked trick. After opening the image, open the same image again in a new window. In Photoshop, choose Window ->Arrange -> New Window. In Elements choose View->New Window. This allows you to view one window zoomed in for detail work and the other window at 100% so you can judge the effects. Using the magnifying glass tool draw a box around the area of shine. Make the box big enough to also show a fair amount of un-shiny skin. Select the Clone tool. At the top of the page select Mode: Darken and use the slider to set Opacity at 50%.Using the Clone Tool, select an area of un-shiny skin by putting the circle over the area and holding down the Alt button while left-clicking the mouse. To best match skin tone try to select the area of skin closest to the shine.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Quick tip, to easily resize the Clone Tool circle simply use the bracket keys, [ and ] - much easier than moving your cursor back and forth between the photo and the Size slider. Now simply click on the shiny area and watch the magic happen. You'll have to experiment a little for best effect, and for larger areas be sure to resample the un-shiny skin frequently. In the zoomed-in image the effect might look too obvious, so you'll need to keep an eye on the 100% image to track your progress. Notice the difference on the tip of the nose, the cheek, and above his eye.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Photo retouching is sometimes quite important to your photo. You can change your photo to black and white, take out some unwanted acne, fix a blurry line. Well, here are some instructions on how to sharpen your image. Start by opening your image Duplicate the background layer by pressing control+j. Press shift+control+u to desaturate the layer. Go to filter>others>high pass and give these values, Radius of 0.4 pixels. Press control+l to open levels. Fianlly, change this layer's mode from normal to overlay. If you find excessive shaprening then reduce the opacity of this layer. You now have more sharpe image and it works on almost any image.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Gradient maps can help your coloring on Photo manipulations a lot. They can be used to help blend things in and to make the colors in things the same. So you should have the same picture from the section Textures open. Okay now looking at you textures picture. You might think. My textures dont really blend in well with my face. So I am going to show you how to blend those in better using gradient maps. So I want you to decide what you want your face to look like (mainly color wise). So to make my textures blend in more I start off by going to Image> Adjustments> Gradient Map. Since I want a green picture I am going to pick a green/yellow gradient map. Then I am going to set it on soft light. After I put the opacity down a bit. Then I added a black and white gradient map. I did this because I wanted to make the picture a bit darker. I left the black and white gradient map on normal and set it on around 50% opacity. It will get rid of a bit of the color but thats what the green and yellow gradient maps were for (they were to add color so it didnt look really bland when we added the black and white one). Here is my picture after adding gradient maps.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Open the JavaScript Reference Guide and click the ArtLayer bookmark to the left in Adobe Reader, now you can first se all properties available for ordinary layers and after that is all the methods available for it. Hello worldNow it's time to try your wings by creating and running your first script for Photoshop. As always the first program you create in a new programming language should always output the Hello world sentence. To install a script you simply copy it to Photoshop's scripts folder which in windows is located in: c:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CS2PresetsScripts Before you can use it from Photoshop you have to quit Photoshop and restart it. Once you have done this the script is available under File > Scripts

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">From the murky depths of the deepest forests to the frosty desolation of the Siberian wilderness, camouflage is invaluable for breaking up the human silhouette, allowing stealthy approaches towards your prey. It is, however, also deceptively simple to make in Photoshop using only a couple of filters and a basic sense of style. Create a blank document of any size with a single active layer (this can be filled with anything you desire). Using the colour swatches, select #D0C577 as the foreground colour, and #BAAD4A as the background colour. Then choose Edit > Fill from the main menu and fill the background layer with the new BG colour. Now create that camouflage by selecting Filter > Artistic > Sponge, and running it with the following settings: Brush Size - 8; Definition - 25; Smoothness - 15; Repeat the filter a second time with exactly the same settings to bring out highlights. To smooth out the result, go to Filter > Noise > Median and enter a value of 3. And that's it! See, I said it was easy! Of course, at this point you can brighten things up a little with the Image > Adjust > Brightness / Contrast tools, and/or add a little cloth texture with Filter > Texture > Texturizer, but I'll leave that up to you... Of course, these colours wont work for every environment, so feel free to play around a little. Take a look below to see a few quick colour variations. Have fun experimenting.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">As with many applications, working in Photoshop can be made far easier and more efficient by using keyboard shortcuts.Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + N New layer Ctrl/Cmd + J Duplicate current layeR. Here are a few useful shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + [ Move layer downwards Ctrl/Cmd + ] Move layer upwards Ctrl/Cmd + E Merge linked layers Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + E Merge visible layers Ctrl/Cmd + A Select all Ctrl/Cmd + D Deselect Ctrl/Cmd + L Levels Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + L Auto levels Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Alt + L Auto contrast Ctrl/Cmd + M Curves Ctrl/Cmd + I Invert colours Ctrl/Cmd + Z Undo Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + Z Step back in history Ctrl/Cmd + F Apply last used filter Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + X Liquify tool Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + Shift + X Pattern tool

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">A way to make a whole pallette from the three colors is not extremely difficult. Open a new canvas, does not really matter the size, but keep it no smaller than 468x60. Click on the gradiant tool on the left tool bar. Go into the Gradient Editor, by clicking on the colored gradient on the top toolbar. Place the darkest of the three colors on one side, the lightest on the other, and the midtone in the middle. Keep the opacity at 100%. Press Ok, then click-drag a horizontal line across the canvas. You can use the eyedrop tool to take the color from this canvas and color the skin of your project. Now that we have a pallete of color, we have to understand the effects of lighting on skin. It's a very simple concept, but understanding it is necessart to shading skin. As any matter, the brighter the light, the lighter the highlight and the darker the shadow. The dimmer the light, the difference between the light and the shadow decreases. The shadow cast by it is also affected by the light and darkness. The color of light affects it in the same way. If the light is green, it will have a green tint to the skin. If it is a small light, such as a lamp, a smaller portion of the skin will be that color, instead of affecting the whole skin. As stated before, most matter is affected the same way as this.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

Being the observant person that I am I started to notice some trends. I've been talking about some of them with an online friend "C.W." who believes that treating an online Friend as you would a real friend is foolish, but after a while I think "C.W." is starting to have a different opinion of the matter. I've been toying with writing something about this in my mind, but then I saw the posting from The Bottled Leopard (who I don't know, but seems to be a very bright woman, you should check out her postings) and it kicked my ideas into the front of my head, well I guess to my fingers since I'm typing this.

I've been "playing" with the social networking site Twinkle for the past couple of months (actually for us old farts Twinkle is very much like CompuServe and Delphi back in the early 1990's, though no chat rooms in Twinkle). It's been interesting to see it grow from people just talking locally, to people talking all over the world. I've made "friends" and "enemies", I've had people attack me for no other reason than they are bored and I've had people try to seduce me for the same reason (not really into either virtually to be honest). For someone like me it's an interesting arena to play in because I'm a people person and I'm told I'm a natural flirt (I don't mean to do it honestly, it just happens, I think it's because I'm nice to people).

I've run into several kinds of people here, this isn't a complete list, but given my vast back ground in psychology, this is what I came up with (my vast background was a class in high school I think, but it was such a long time ago I consider myself an expert now, I can tell people that I've studied psychology for over 20 years, it's more than that, but I'm not telling my age without being asked nicely first):

Shock and Awe - These are people who will say something, anything to get a reaction from the crowd watching. It can be sexual, it can be mean, it can be a joke. I can do this very well myself, but I found over time it became boring. I prefer dealing with people vs shocking them. I've had a few people try to pick fights with me in shock and awe, they don't realize that it doesn't bother me and that I don't get flustered easy (it also helps that I'm relatively bright and much smarter than the people who do the stupid stuff).

People Persons - This is me, though with all the other people out there pretending to be someone else, it's tough to get people to believe that you actually want to be their friend, hold a conversation that doesn't involve body parts or foul language. In this role I've become counselor to several younger people (between 18 and 35), I've let others know that if they see something odd that I'm there to assist if needed. I've sat and listened to the kids tell me about their lives, most of them are good, but many are bad. When I see this I think it's a shame that the parents aren't more involved with their up bringing.

Hookups - I've had a couple of people start to proposition me online, but once they realize I'm there to be friends, they back off. My female friends online seem to be getting many offers, some have been shared with me and I find it a bit hilarious. I've had several friends have people want to meet them offline, for several reasons I see this as a bad idea. I'll get into it more below.

Casual Users - There are people who just post what their doing, they might respond to a question, most likely they will ignore you. They see this as an extension of Twitter and micro-blogging (which is it's intended use), not a chat room (which is what it's become).

Practical Jokesters - I like these the best, there is one guy on the site, who I've spoken with. He's a software developer, but he pretends to be someone who's very big in his business and very important. He posts one-sided conversations with himself, even making up names to respond to. It's interesting to see, not sure what his goal is other than making the extreme upper class look foolish, I'm not sure if he's doing that, but he's very entertaining.

Virtual vs Reality

I went into this swearing that I wouldn't break the line between the two, but as I've gotten to know people I see this line blurring some. Some of the people are great to meet on the phone or via email, other's I don't want to meet via either method, rather just have a virtual friend. I'm still not sure about meeting anyone in person, I think I would have to really get to know the person first or meet in a group. I try to leave all my PII (Personally Identifiable Information) out of any conversations, people email me at an address I've set up just for this kind of traffic (not that I have a lot, but as soon as people realize I know about computers, I start getting questions). I share what I do and my first name, but that's it. I have some "friends" who've shared too much information with me and with others, I really hope that doesn't come back and bite them.

I have developed virtual friendships that are very much like real friendships. We have fun together, chatting, but we also share our troubles, dreams and successes, we also have fights and make up. I would be as upset if anything bad happened to a virtual friend as I would if something happened to one in real life. The psychology behind this has got to be fascinating.

Everyone, myself included, is a little bit more attractive online, the reason behind this is that we don't drag a lot of our everyday baggage along with us. We can be who we think we are, instead of who we really are. No one has an accent (OK the people in the UK definitely have an accent when they type, not sure how they do that), and the few people I've spoken with on the phone all have accents, and they've all commented on my accent (I guess it's a little Southern, I know I should have told you before hand, so you could have read this with a Southern accent to start with, but I swear it isn't that pronounced).

Warnings

I see a lot of young people on here doing and saying very scary things. If I were a parent, actually I am a parent, I wouldn't let my child anywhere near these applications. These applications are not for the young, period, even if it was a site with other young children I would question letting my child use it without supervision. They also aren't for the easily embarrassed or upset. I see many people who loose their lid and start "flaming" everyone and everything, they would be better off with a beer watching TV. There are also people who go out and provoke fights, they'll call you names, etc... Best to ignore them, if you can't, then you should be elsewhere.

Also note if someones too perfect, too pretty, too willing to do what you want, too nice, they might not be what or who you think they are. Be very careful with perfection, people are flawed.

Conclusion

In conclusion I think these sites are interesting places to kill time, they can be extremely addictive. Be very careful about who you make friends with, people will try to make you believe something they aren't, including guys pretending to be women. Do not let your children on these sites and don't post anything that your mother or pastor would be upset in seeing. They are a good place to have fun, but realize that's all it is. The friends you need to vet carefully, but over time you 'll be able to tell friends from foe.

Do You Jott?

The truth be told, we are shocked as to the number of SMB's that continue to leave money on the table because of their unwillingness to implement and manage an internal transportation management policy in their companies.

The steps are relatively simple and they can be implemented with the help of a seasoned supply chain management consultant, internal staff, or a combination of both.

Step 1 - Conduct an inbound and outbound transportation analysis of your suppliers and your customer ship to locations. On the inbound side, document who your buying from, how often and how much. On the outbound side, who you are shipping to, how often, and how much. Document what the transport costs are for each of these movements. By the way, this includes your own trucks if any in the costs analysis.

Step 2 - Invite transportation companies to bid on your business. This would include everyone from small parcel to large truckload movement carriers depending on what your specific mix is. Again, a seasoned transportation person internal or external can help you identify potential carriers and manage the bidding process.

Step 3 - Research and select a transportation management software package that fits your corportae culture and business model. There are packages out there that be purchased for on-premise licensing, can be hosted on a remote basis, or can be managed for you on your behalf many times better than you can internally.

You don't have to be intimidated by the scope of this project and the payback is a matter of a ciouple months. With fuel continuing to climb, you cannot afford to wait to implement your own transportation management program and software to support it.

Such tools can come with a hefty price tag, ranging from $750 to $1,000 for every 10 employees that will use the software. However, open-source efforts are making an increasing number of specialized business tools available for free, giving small-business owners the ability to obtain the tools they need without breaking the bank. Even Microsoft and Intuit offer free entry-level versions of some software, such as accounting packages, but because these products are not open source they cannot be retooled for individual businesses. Some of the open-source desktop software programs, such as the OpenOffice.org office suite or the Firefox browser can be easily downloaded but may require a professional to make the programs run properly on a server, and IT support is usually only available in online community forums so if a program needs extra attention a professional may once again be necessary. Even with the cost of hiring IT professionals, open-source software can still be a good deal. "With proprietary vendors, they own everything and they lock you into their contracts," says consultant Paul Williams, who adds that open source frees small businesses because there are people outside the business working to analyze and expand the program. Before buying software, check to see if the product or a similar one is available in a free version. Some companies offer simple packages to get potential customers comfortable with their products in the hopes that they will upgrade later. If you start using one of these basic packages and decide the product is perfect, paying for the upgrade may be the right choice, but if not there are plenty of other options. "Out in the Open" BusinessWeek SmallBiz (05/08) P. 47; King, Rachael

Email Marketing Tips - How To Start Your Own Opt In List

Having your own opt in list is essential if you want to succeed on the internet. Its common knowledge that email marketing is one of the most reliable ways of generating consistent free targeted traffic for your website.

Once you have your own responsive opt in list it can open up a variety of different opportunities, such as selling advertising space and setting up joint ventures with other list owners.

The first thing you need to do is collect email addresses from your visitors and you can do this by offering a free report or starting a newsletter using an auto responder, allowing you to set up a series of messages that will be sent out automatically on your behalf on a timeframe you specify.

Its important to choose the most reliable auto responder at the start because it can be very stressful and time consuming to transfer your opt in list from one place to another.

For best results you should not use a free auto responder service because advertisements will be added to all your outgoing emails. You will have no control over which ads are shown and this will distract your subscribers and dramatically reduce the response rates to your emails.

You can either pay a monthly fee and use a third party hosted auto responder service like Aweber or Get Response, or you can pay a one time fee and install an auto responder script like Auto Response Plus on your domain.

The problem with auto responder scripts is that the number of subscribers you can store will be limited depending on how much disk space you have with your hosting plan, and you will also need to backup your list on a regular basis in case a problem occurs and all of the information is lost.

Its much easier and safer to use a third party hosted auto responder service because you will not have to worry about installing a script and your subscribers will be stored securely on a dedicated server with no limits.

Its essential that you focus on one specific topic for your opt in list as this will dramatically increase your response rates. You need to create a landing page consisting of a short sales letter that encourages visitors to subscribe, and a subscription form that allows visitors to enter their name and email address. You should also offer some quality bonus gifts to increase your conversion rates.

Double opt in lists are becoming more popular because they provide extra security as subscribers must confirm their email address, but many people will forget to complete this confirmation which results in fewer active subscribers so you may prefer to use the single opt in feature.

Once you have set up your landing page and follow up messages you will need to start sending visitors to your website. Submitting content to article directories and writing press releases are the most effective ways of generating unlimited free targeted traffic.

The major places where there are problems, faced by either small businessmen or tycoons, are accounts or cash procedures. Even in an age where machine power is the norm, many businesses yet depend on manpower. This gives rise to inefficient and delayed results. Billing software, also known as invoice software, is software that helps us to maintain bills or accounts accurately.

It simplifies the process of manual billing and provides features like automatic invoicing, integration with other systems, time management, self service, payment processes and more. Added to this, it can be used to maintain a complete client and staff history with billing adjustments and time-slip production. This software can be also used in creating invoices, quotes, proposals and customer statements, and also to keep track of outstanding invoices and customer payments. This is a very important component that can be used in any type of business.

If the billing isn't on time and accurate, or if the billing processes are inefficient, then there are chances of losing customers and revenue. Billing software can be the perfect solution to your problem. It can not only help get your billing done fast, but manages to save your customer contacts and provide sales reports. This software meets the requirements of not only a one-person office, but also a large network-based organization getting fast and immediate results.

If you are looking for software that will get your billing done with minimum time and maximum flexibility, get billing software in your office. Spend less time billing your customers and more time filling their needs.

To ease their work the IT industry has designed and created medical billing software. This software enables quick filling and maintenance of paper work and electronic submission of insurance papers. According to statistics submission of insurance claims electronically increases settlements to over 90 %.

Medical practitioners need to be more than doctors, they need to:

* Keep paper work in their practices in order.
* Balance accounts and track aspects like receivables and co-payments.
* Ensure that fees are according to maximum allowable by insurance carriers.
* Procedure codes are current.

All medical practices need to institute sound business practices. Using the right billing software can improve cash flow in medical practices. And the cost of installing the medical billing software will be recovered within months due to streamlining of systems. Most medical billing systems are HIPAA compliant.

As a professional you need to choose a medical billing system carefully. Here are a few tips to guide you:

1. The first step is to evaluate your needs. And when evaluating different systems look for a package that goes one step ahead of billing. Choose a medical practice management system MPP. This will handle considerably more that just medical billing.

2. Determine whether the system handles electronic transmission of claims, direct billing for patients, co-pays, co-insurance, and expenses not covered by insurance.
3. Weigh the pros and cons of different medical billing systems and ask to see a system in operations. Always check out the references yourself.

4. Look for a medical billing management system that is user friendly. When a vendor demonstrates get your office staff to be present. This way you will be able to check how the software functions. Any software must be easy to use to be productive. The system should be fool proof.

5. Ask whether the medical billing software is a traditional system, one that will work on your office computers or an application service provider system (ASP), one that will process data at the software company’s data center.

6. Always get quotes from at least three medical billing software providers.

7. Ask whether they are offering an evaluation period or trial. This will enable you to know in actuality whether the system works or not.

8. Find out about training your office people, up-gradation of system, and whether the software is compatible with your office computer systems.

9. Find out whether the system will handle appointment scheduling, maintenance of records and so on apart from electronic medical records, SOAP notes, and billing. Choose a system that is comprehensive.

10. An ideal medical billing software system must include aspects like payment posting, reconciliation; follow up, secondary submission, and patient billing.

Choose a transparent billing system that enhances your office efficiency. Install a system that you can use not one that will lead to frustration and problems.

Medical billing systems must free your time and that of your office staff not make you run in circles. Choose a system with care.

Would you be interested in finding out more about how technology can provide benefits and help lower costs for your business? Budget conferencing is a good example. Not only will budget conferencing help save you money on travel and meeting costs, it will actually help you conduct your business more profitably.

Exactly what is conferencing? Conferencing is a way that you can use technology to communicate with partners and clients without actually having to meet face-to-face. There are at least three different kinds of conferencing: audio conferencing, video conferencing and web conferencing.

Audio conferencing is the oldest kind of conferencing. It's really nothing more than what used to be known as a conference call. Audio conferencing uses telephones and speaker phones to enable a group of people to communicate in real time. Although this type of conferencing is somewhat limited, it remains quite effective and audio conferencing is still offered by many budget conferencing providers.

Video conferencing, which made it possible for participants to actually see each other, was a big improvement when it was introduced. The main disadvantage of video conferencing was that it required special equipment and support at each participant's location. It was more expensive than audio conferencing, but it still provided a huge cost savings over actual travel.

Web conferencing takes advantage of today's newest Internet technology. Using the web is an excellent budget conferencing choice and provides a full range of benefits at a very cost-effective price. When it was first introduced, web conferencing required the installation of matching software applications on each participant's computer. This has become much less of an issue since most budget conferencing providers make available free software for download.

Budget conferencing is very easy to set up. Normally you begin by creating an account with your chosen provider. Billing and payment can be set up easily using a credit card. One of the most attractive features of budget conferencing companies is that everything can be set up on the web and activation of your account is usually instant. No additional equipment is required. It's possible that in literally minutes you could create your account, invite your participants and begin your own audio or web conference.

In most cases, you will pay for conferencing by the minute. However, some budget conferencing solutions are available for a flat monthly rate. You pay the same amount each month regardless of how much you use it. Deciding which is better for you is usually a simple matter of comparing the monthly fee to what you would normally be charged for your anticipated usage. If you do a lot of conferencing, you may be able to negotiate a volume discount.

Most budget conferencing companies are optimized for use by beginners or newcomers to conferencing. If you're in the market for budget conferencing, then price may be your primary factor for choosing a company. But it's important to understand what services are provided at the basic rate. Investigate carefully to ensure that you're getting the services that you need. You should still take the time to compare basic features like call security and audio quality. Also, make sure that your budget conferencing choice is available throughout the day and night. If you need conferencing to work in the global marketplace, then you need a service that's not affected by time zones.

Budget conferencing is an excellent way to save time and build relationships. If your business has several work groups that are geographically dispersed, you can use budget conferencing to collaborate on documents and presentations, and to build a sense of connection that would probably not otherwise be possible.

Training is another area where budget conferencing really shines. If you're rolling out a new software application or some other type of product, you can use conferencing to train your workforce and salespeople. Not only will the training probably be more effective, you can also start training much more quickly after the product is ready because there is no need to arrange for travel or set up meetings. Plus, now everyone has to provide their own coffee and donuts. Over a year's time, that might add up to the biggest savings of all from budget conferencing.

The bigger the business becomes, the more likely it is that there will be a network of computers involved, and even more need for adequate software to do the jobs at hand.

There are plenty of ready made solutions available to help your growing business when it comes to keeping accurate records, creating spreadsheets, maintaining accounts and much more. But while these products can be extremely useful they are not the only solution on offer.

More and more businesses are discovering that they can opt for a more personalised approach to the software they are using. They are finding that the very generic types of software on offer don’t always have the capabilities that are required for certain businesses.

For example, a retail business is run in a very specific way. Not only do the sales need to be recorded, but there is stock to be booked in, returns to be logged and many more types of transactions that are very common when running a shop of some kind, whatever size it may be.

If your business involves running a hotel however, you will have a very different set of requirements that will need to be met. You won’t be selling stock, but you will need to keep an accurate record of each room that is booked out and when, while also keeping an eye on how many staff you need and when you need them. As you can see, every type of business has its own set of requirements, and using the same software program for both of these businesses is bound to leave gaps in certain areas.

Rather than buying an “off the peg” style of software, some businesses are now seeking the help of a business software company to provide them with computer programs that are tailored towards their own kind of industry.

This approach is packed with benefits. It can save a lot of time which is usually lost trying to plug the gaps left by the more traditional software packages. If you use software that is designed especially for your type of business, you will find it much easier to use, manage and keep track of.

Another key benefit lies in the ability it gives you to track your progress, profits and losses far more accurately. In this sense, although targeted software like this tends to be more expensive in the beginning, it will pay for itself many times over in the long run, and is well worth the investment.

So if you are currently struggling with keeping up to date records for your business, it might be time to rethink your approach.

If you're evaluating a CRM suite in particular, you may have heard a lot of horror stories about CRM investments going to waste. Rest assured, it's not the technology; cases of outright technology failure are rare in e-business, and their heyday was years ago, when a lot of applications were in their early generations.

Much more often, CRM failure has to do with the old saying, much beloved of coaches, that goes, "Fail to plan, plan to fail." This is the point emphasized by Mike Murphy, executive director of Siebel Global Services. Addressing his company's CRM audience some months ago, Murphy remarked, "If you focus on technology as the only aspect of a customer-facing solution, you're going to have a fairly high-risk project."

This truism of CRM has been out there for years, but it seems not all adopters have paid attention. "People frequently do not take into account the lessons of those that have gone before them," Murphy tells Line56. "They will ignore some of the warnings."

It's part of a larger pattern in which CRM adopters haven't conducted due diligence about the state of their own company, or of customers. Take the case of Cisco, which bought hosted CRM from Salesforce.com but subsequently came to realize that user behavior rejected the tool in favor of existing applications. That's something that the company should have known from the CRM get-go, either causing it to pass up Salesforce.com altogether or else paying increased attention to the change management needed to embed Salesforce.com.

That's a case of not knowing how CRM users behave, but Murphy knows of plenty of other cases in which a customer strategy has been missing. "When we do a post-mortem on these projects, we see that a customer strategy is lacking, or isn't linked to a corporate strategy."

For example, a manufacturer might be tasked to use CRM to do order management in order to improve cross-sell numbers, but might not have segmented the customer base properly. The customers might be craving cross-divisional solutions, not the discrete products currently offered by the manufacturer. But you'd never learn this by implementing order management.

Murphy offers a simple, three-step guide to avoiding CRM failure: 1. Align IT and business about what CRM-addressable problems are, and what to do about them; 2. Articulate a customer strategy, and how it links to corporate goals as well as to the proposed CRM system; and 3. Define goals in a measurable way so you can track your progress.

That's what you should have on your mind when you think about a CRM suite, or even a component tool. Otherwise, as Murphy says, you might end up with "the technology piece working, but no results."

Is it Right for your Business?

Linux is an operating system, like Microsoft Windows, MacOS, or Unix. It was created as a hobby by Linus Torvalds, a student at the University of Helsinki in Finland. What most people don’t know about Linux is that its source code is available to anyone. The Linux source code is called the kernel and it is the base of the Linux operating system. Because the source code or kernel is free, it has enabled hundreds of companies and individuals to release their own operating systems based on the Linux system. These operating systems or formats are often referred to as Linux distributions.

Each distribution has its own set of features and functionality that makes it unique. While Linux is generally considered free-ware and people associate that with no cost, that is not always the case. Some distributions are available for download for free and others are available on CD or floppy disk and have a small charge associated with them. You can find a list of distributions at http://www.linux.org/ and a list of applications at http://www.Linux.org/apps/

Because if the adaptability of Linux it has been embraced and supported by a number of operating systems and software programs. For example, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and other giants of the computing world have embraced Linux and support its ongoing development and openoffice.org and Mozilla run on Linux. US retailing giant Wal-Mart began selling Linux systems back in 2002 - if Wal-Mart isn’t mainstream, nothing is.

What are the benefits of Linux?

Many people fear that Linux is going to be difficult to work with or that it will be difficult to find software that will run on Linux however Linux is a very standard operating system, compatible with just about any software you need.

Beyond being a standard operating system, Linux supports open source software which makes it a very economical operating system, especially if you program your own software. It offers many free or low cost applications which include, basic desktop applications like web browsers, email programs, word processing programs, spreadsheets, graphics programs, and file managers.

Linux can easily operate as a central server for your business. With Linux, you can serve your own web pages up for public consumption and handle your own email.

Linux doesn’t require top of the line hardware though many recommend you have at least 256 MB of RAM and at least 4 GB of space in your hard drive.

Linux is considered to be extremely stable and doesn’t need to be rebooted periodically to maintain performance levels. Think about the last time you sat at your computer and it froze. Not fun, right? That doesn’t happen with Linux if it is configured correctly.

Linux isn’t going to be replaced anytime soon and when bugs are found in the system, a developer are quickly on the job and often times a solution is offered within a matter of hours, not months or years like many other operating systems.

Linux is also fast and can handle a number of tasks at the same time.

Linux also claims to be one of the most secure operating systems isn’t plagued with the viruses that other operating systems generally deal with.

Linux is free from having to upgrade it or deal with proprietary file formats and licensing fees. You don’t have to register it due to its open source format.

You can have both Linux and windows on your computer. (You’ll have to partition them on your hard drive and you can only boot them one at a time.)

Drawbacks of Linux

There is no 1800 customer service number to call. However, most distributions offer a support number or email to call if you find a bug. They also generally come with installation instructions.

You cannot run applications for MS windows on Linux. However, there are Linux emulators or applications that enable you to run some windows applications on your Linux system. They operate like a translator. Some of these ‘translation or emulator’ products are free and others are available for a price.

Linux is not able to run some advanced financial applications or reproduce some proprietary multimedia formats.

Tips and Advice:

Choose a popular distribution has a large developer community. A large developer community means that you’ll find the programs that you need easily and you will be able to install them with the same ease. The more well-known distributions have prepared programs in ‘packages’ that are easy to install. On top of this, there are tools designed especially for a particular distribution to manage these packages to make sure that programs run correctly right away. The website Distrowatch.com maintains a comprehensive list of the most popular distributions.

Get the latest version of your chosen distribution. The newer the Linux distribution version, the better the hardware support. The number of glitches you’ll get in the installation process decreases with the newness of the version of Linux you choose.

Consider paying for your Linux distribution. It is true that you can get a full-featured Linux operating system free of charge by downloading it from any number of sources. This is an excellent alternative to an operating system like Windows, which either comes pre-loaded with a newly purchased computer (which gets figured into the cost), is bought separately or copied ‘illegally’. In most people’s experience, the popular Linux distributions are easy to install. However, if you do run into some glitch (normally hardware related), you may have a frustrating experience. Although there are a number of excellent Linux support forums out there, personalized advice on your particular problem may be hard to find.

Use an appropriate computer. if you want to use Linux to do the same things that you would with Windows XP or Mac OS X, then you’ll need the newest computer you can get your hands on. Avoiding ‘elite’ video cards and new, exotic hardware will also work in your favor because you won’t have to deal with hardware support which may be inferior to hardware support from other operating systems.

Bottom Line:

Linux is a fantastic and powerful operating system that can handle most or all of your operating needs. It is secure, fast, reliable, and generally extremely cost effective. When purchased or obtained through a reliable distributor and installed and configured correctly there are virtually no drawbacks to running Linux. Additionally, you don’t have to give up your windows if you don’t want to.

Since the thing that will ultimately decide the fate of your online business is the level of faith entrusted upon you by your customers, you need to do everything in your capacity to ensure that customer needs and requirements are met in the most rightful manner. One way of doing this is to start and operate a full-fledged customer support center. But, since small online business owners such as you often do not have the requisite funds to do so, it makes sense to try out other affordable options that might be available.

If you really want to make it big in the world of online business, then the best you can do is opt for a support ticket system software that will automate all your customer support services. Once you install the software, you can allocate your precious time and effort for more productive purposes rather than waste it over mundane tasks, such as reading customer queries and complaints and writing appropriate replies.

You may be concerned about customer satisfaction. But, you need not worry because your customers will in fact benefit from the software and not the other way round. In just a few clicks, the software will automatically lead customers to the answers that they might be looking for. They will thus be freed from the painstaking job of writing lengthy emails, explaining in detail their queries or problems and not to mention, the waiting period gets completely eliminated once you install the software on your website.

Apart from your customers, you too stand to benefit a lot from installing a support ticket system because it will allow you to streamline your customer support services. For example, with the help of the software, you will easily be able to classify customer queries or complaints into different categories, something that will save your time and effort. Then, you will not be required to write personalized mails to each and every customer query. You just need to create a single generalized mail, which can then be sent over as a reply to all the queries in a particular group.

Installing a support ticket system on your website is certainly beneficial, but before you actually do so, you need to consider a few things, obviously because not all support ticket systems available online have the desired functionalities. You might have to spend some additional hours searching for the best available support ticket system, but believe me, your efforts will not go in vain because once you find the right software, you will automatically be on your road to success.

This is done by having more than one piece of business software but every different software package is linked up to another business software package through the business.

Some businesses buy there business software from an outside company but some also create their own software packages. There needs to be software developer within the company who has a wide range of knowledge. The developer is told exactly what the business requires in the package and how the software should supposed to be used.

The pointers to consider in deciding what business software you require are:

• What are your specific needs for the software? Do you require an entire system that supports all the functions of your business or just one specific area?

• What features and abilities do you require in the software package? Will there be any services provided as well what level of expertise with the package offer you?

• Maintenance how is this going to be carried out, will there be help desk facility for all your employees and who will install this help desk?

These are all important points to consider, you will need to take the time and decide what your specifically need from the software package.

The different types of business software are as follows:

• Spreadsheet Programs – enables you to track orders, profits as well as your incomings and outgoings, an example of this is Microsoft Excel.

• Accounting Software – if you’re not very good at numbers and figures an accounting software package will help a lot. They can track your spending and profit, enables you to create invoices for your customers and suppliers instantly and then send them as well as accessing bank statements easily to check your accounts.

• Auto responder Program – this program saves time, if you want to send out a special offer to your customers instead of taking the time to write the same email over and over again. You add all your customers’ addresses into the program and the offer will be sent to them all in one email.

• Desktop Publishing Program – this is used to create newsletters, business cards, brochures and other marketing materials.

• Web Design Program – there are many different software packages for web site design, these include Dreamweaver and FrontPage. They let you build the website using HTML without learning the language.

Having the right business software for your business can help make your business more profitable and successful. Many businesses start off with just a computer and access to the Internet, but once your business takes off you will need to be able to track your customers orders, hold account information including profits and expenses as well as marketing your product or service.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">Import material in Windows Vista Movie Maker

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">If you want to use something in your movie, you have to import a copy from an existing folder on your hard drive into a collection folder in Movie Maker.
