Also, many thanks to Benjamin for taking the time to provide some great feedback. Benjamin, you are obviously intelligent and knowledgable and I will try to find a way to work with you in the future. I am still working to release our first product so, right now, we have nothing to sell. That is why you are seeing a blog site. It is just a fancy "under construction" that attempts to communicate values. The goal for this site is to build up a list of contacts to approach when our first product is ready. Dynamical Software, Inc. also does contract work building web applications for companies but I want the collaborative software development project life cycle management application in place before I start drumming up a lot of contract business because I want to leverage that application for customers to use to specify what they want. I have over twenty years in the business of writing business software so I have what I believe to be some very relevant opinions on what works when it comes to requirements management, change management, configuration management, records management, compliance management, customer relationship management, project management, and product management. I believe that the key to writing successful software is to get really clear and focused on the goals that you want the software to achieve. The problem is that those goals can get really elaborate and complex and people get tired having to think about all that. So, they get overwhelmed, burn out, and just punt. That is when the project is in the most jeopardy. This software is designed to keep people focused without getting overwhelmed.

The text in the image banner on the home page and the contact us page tends to blend in or is overpowered by the graphic behind. Causes problems with the eyes.

The news feed on the home page a couple of suggestions - 1. make them clickable with more information or 2. move them to a page with a link and give more details on the page.

Page title for Resources page states "Leaving Dynamical Software", I would title it "Resources".

The site map page I believe isn't really necessary, because most of the information that is on the site map is also on your home page. If you really want to use a site map for search engine purpose, I would change it to the more traditional architectural style.

Thanks for your feedback on the site. I really need to rethink the news area. Right now, what I am doing with it is reporting changes to the site. Folks seem to be confusing that with recent content. Actually, people most probably just don't care about recent changes to the site. Perhaps I will just get rid of it altogether. Why do I title it "Leaving Dynamical Software?" Because I have gotten feedback on previous sites that people get confused and don't understand when they click a link that takes them to a different web site.

Thanks to everyone for all of your feedback. These are the changes that I have made in response to your great suggestions. The "Contact Us" link is too vague and doesn't correctly spell out the value proposition. Why would anyone want to contact us? I have added "register to be a beta tester" as a more direct goal. I have also added "download our white paper" as a secondary goal. The sitemap link takes you to a more traditional site map. The logo has been replaced.

    Glenn,

You have only a few seconds to get the response you want. Don't tell me who you are, what you do, or even welcome me, just tell me what I will get out of you, your products, or services. Make it about me, whats in it for me, and why I want to do business with you and nothing else. Everything else is just fluff I have to get through and I am a web surfer looking through thousands of pages on lifecycle project management to find the solution I need.

Questions are good, but they need to be at the top of your page. Do you deliver the projects for me or does your software help me deliver the project. From the top of your page, it looks like you do the development for me. If your goal is to get me to try your product, then that must be front and center and you need to request that action immediately.

    Best of luck to you.

    Brad

    Dear Glenn,

From my point of view, your website layout is not bad at all, however it requires some improvements:

    - Your logo's colors do not match your website theme and its resolution should be treated in order to look better, I suggest that it should be rebuilt (the logo).

    - The white writings on the top bar especially on the blue color is showing that there is something weird... maybe the text color can be darker.

    - There should be a space between the top bar and the menu, the text and the news.

    Regards

    Ricardo
