    Critique My Site - http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/

I must have some problem with http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/ which is for my startup business because the conversion rate is really low. The conversion goal is the completion of the "contact us" form. Thanks, in advance, for any tips.

The logo at the top of the page looks like it was larger and has been forcibly shrunk without using any sort of photoshop type software.  The edges are rounded, but there's still some jagged corners to it.  Smoothing that out would make it fit better with the overall sleek feel of the site.

     Hey Glenn,

The first thing I noticed was the "Contact us if you want to be on the private beta for our upcoming software project life cycle management application."

I think because the "Contact us" draws the eye to that.

I would try moving that lower down the page and put your best converting offers higher up.

    Just my 2 cents :-)

That is my best converting offer at this time. This company is just starting and my first product for public consumption is this upcoming project life cycle management application. That offer has been up for about a month. According to google analytics, that "contact us" page gets only 13% of the pageviews.

    Hello Glenn,

I agree that the logo needs help. Maybe even a re-design.

Overall your site is not bad, but it is based on a blog template, and it's not readily apparent what the focus of your business is. A custom designed web site may be the way to go to present a more professional look and feel to the site.

If you want more hits to the contact us page, you need to highlight that better. Put the info in a starburst or some other graphic that catches your eye. If I had not read your post first, I probably wouldn't have even seen that link. Actually, you might even make a separate page for that form inviting people to join your beta program. The "contact us" page is really to generic, and it doesn't mention anything about the beta on that page.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help out.

You're right. The first product is the collaborative software development project life cycle management tool which is currently under development. In the meantime, the site is a blogging app because I believe that sharing the values and opinions of its founder does a better job at getting the company's message out than a simple "under construction" page.

Thanks for the advice. I shall execute on these suggestions in a couple of days once I get past a big, looming deadline. Dynamical Software also does contract spec work.

One thing that you can do to try and improve your conversion for the contact us form is make it more prominent such as how we have our feedback image on the side of MySolutionSpot

Doing this should at least intice more people to view it and out of those some will fill out the form.

In terms of a conversion though 13% doesn't sound that bad.  In the e-commerce area many people see a conversion (sale) of only around 2-3% of their visitors.  Now that does vary drastically by industry but something to remember.

Joe, 13% pageviews, not conversion.  We'd all die to have a 13% conversion rate...

I would create a different page for the "Private Beta" form.  You do a good job of making it feel like something special; but it's just a regular contact us form.  Make the Private Beta form special with some cool "Restricted Access" graphics.

What makes your "software project life cycle management application" special?  I think you have too much vague info.  You need more meat.

Re: Critique My Site - http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/

In my professional opinion, I steer business entities away from the sole blog-style site. It confuses your visitors. In saying that, having a dynamic website is great - especially how you're interested in keeping it up to date and having your visitors know that there is new information available. But, is your website and company created for distributing information bits or is it created for generating and converting visitors to clients. Here's my thoughts: 1. NEWS The news on the right side is a distraction and causes frustration at not being able to click. Most who see news have the assumption that if I click on it, I'll get even more information. That's not what is happening here though - you have static information that just adds clutter to the frontpage. If you want news - make it 'read more' so your visitors begin to interact with your site. News should always draw them to hooks on services/products you provide and reinforce your marketing strategy. 2. BLOG-STYLE In my professional opinion, I steer business entities away from the sole blog-style site. It confuses your visitors. It begins causing issues, as information is everywhere. As a matter of fact, there's so much information that it just begins to clutter. I'd recommend you get your website revamped and styled. Your main page should be clean, definate information to draw your visitors further to the site and above all, should not be cluttered. You'd need a web strategy - otherwise building for the sake of building simply causes more confusion. And confusion on a website means you've just lost a visitor. Have at the most five sections. Home. Services. Products. About Us. Contact Us. News should be drawing them to specific sections on your site to generate a conversion. 3. COLOURS The colours you're using though are good. The white, light grey, green and blue - it's good and cool on the eyes and invokes calmness.\ 4. WHAT ARE YOU SELLING? You still have yet to have a definate section as to what Dynamical is selling. I'd suggest, and if you want help I'm happy to give it, to draft up a marketing strategy that no doubt is encompassed in your business plan. In that strategy, you ought to have a web strategy - outlining your website, what it does, who you are trying to attract, how you're going about marketing it, styles, etc. Remember, it's best to first plan, and then execute rather than execute and do remedial work. It saves you time and time to a company impacts your bottom line. Be well, and congratulations on your business. I'll contact you shortly. Kind Regards, Benjamin 3
