The company I work for recently acquired a backup generator to power our office due to the number of bad storms that have come our way and knocked out power in the area. It becomes pretty easy to justify something like that after a few occurances where your entire office is left completely useless and unproductive. Now we have a process in place that should our main power fail, the generator kicks on after a specific time period in order to allow us to continue to function and not lose money or work production.
