    Re: Sarah Paulin?

Me, I personally have no qualms about voting McCain/Paulin. I can't believe women aren't more behind her. Is it because she appears to be every American's sister, mother, wife, neighbour? Or is it because she is Republican? I believe it is because she is republican. Period. I can't wait to see how much more the left leaning media bash her. Everything has stuck but everyone who hears them go " Oh yeah I've been there" or "I know someone in the same situation."

What is so special about Obama? He is a socialist, marxist, communist. You were right that you should support McCain. His policies are going destroy this country. It will be just like Carter and his four absolutely garbage years as president. Just read his first book to find out his true ideas. How can his wife understand the "masses"? She has a $350k/year job and her husband is a US senator!!! How can they know about us? Oh wait, it is because they are Democrats and the Democrats are for the masses. You all are kool aid drinkers!!!

    Re: Sarah Paulin?

Mark - This is so patronzing, its offensive!

As I said before, women don't vote based on ovaries. Do you vote on whether your candidate has testicles? If you do, I am glad I don't kniow you. If you hadn't actually noticed before, women are intelligent human beings, and we vote on issues, not as ilemmings.

I think it is very sad (and quite typical of Repulican males) to think that women only vote for women. I don't understand what we have to do to drum it into your head that we have brains and can actually (oh my) think for ourselves.

Oh - and - why do you find it a problem that a woman could earn $350k? Are we supposed to be barefoot and chained to the kitchen sink?

Interested to hear your reply.....I suspect it will be ridiculous, but am hoping it might be sensible....

    Re: Sarah Paulin?

Offensive, how? Kinda like women wanting to be treated the same as males and when one does but belongs to another party all you can up with is some garbage about her speech writer? What the heck is that about? I don't vote on testosterone, despite what you might think. Yes, I agree women are wonderful creations of God and, I might add, I just found scriptures that state women are the wisdom of God.

I love that this woman has scrapped her way to a gubernatorial position. She has been in her position longer than the Dem candidate as Senator. As a governor, her duties are more like the president than a senators. She has to deal with state issuses, read country, and country issues, read world diplomacy. She brings vibrancy to the race. She makes me feel like I did back in the 80's with Reagan. Personally, I can't wait untilshe runs for president. I WILL vote for her.

Pleez don't drum anything into my head. I am frustrated that for once, there appears to be a woman nominee for a serious political position and all women can do is throw crap on her. You for the speech writer thing. Obama has his own speech writers. So what? There are not many Reagan's or Lincoln's who can write their own speeches. The speech writer spends so much time asking questions and getting in the head of the candiddate that it is almost as if the candidate is writing the speech.

I am all for a black man as president, but obama scares me. Knowing that he has ties to a man who has bombed some buildings here, and is unrepentant of it, bothers me about his character. That he asked this man for a political contribution to get started in politics also, to me, shows a lack of intellect and character. He should NEVER have accepted a dime! To me, it says that he agrees with those bombings. About religion and the church he attended, I will leave that alone. But in his first book, he talks about how he learned from the knees of communists and marxists while in college. THIS is what scares me. His policies will destroy this country and turn it upside down. Use the free market to help with healthcare but DO NOT take money from me and my family to pay for it. Keep taxes as they are! The upper middle and wealthy pay for 90% of all taxes, the middle class only part of the rest. Cut taxes to raise revenues. JFK knew this and averted a possible lengthy recession by giving  tax breaks. Over the next few years, revenues DRAMATICALLY increased. The same goes for Reagan and his tax cuts. It is what spurned the amazing growth of the 90's. Tax breaks allow small biz to flourish. Small bizs are what drive our economy. It makes sense to give massive breaks to small companies and for new companies to be developed.

I can read your points and understand where you are coming from, but we have to agree to disagree.

    Re: Sarah Palin?

I find it quite surprising that anyone—particularly women—would refuse to vote for McCain/Palin because of Palin. In so doing, they would be exposing their own worldview. In Palin you have a woman who is (a) very pretty, (b) yet not full of herself (refering to herself as "Valley Trash"), (c) can think on her feet (at the start of her acceptance speech the teleprompter had crashed), (d) isn't afraid of any man, and (e) can run a state three times the size of Texas. The very fact that the left-wingnuts in the media and blogging are bending over backwards and twisting themselves—and the facts—in knots in an effort to be rid of her exposes the very apoplexy that she's thrown them into—just by giving one speech. If it weren't for McCain himself, that alone would earn my vote. McCain has shown me no evidence of having completely repented of McCain/Feigold, an out and out attack on the First Amendment.

    Re: Sarah Palin?

Just to be clear, I am not saying that I am voting for any candidate based on their gender. As a woman, surely I would like to see a woman in the white house as opposed to being the first lady. My problem is, they (McCain's camp) went after Obama for his lack of experience and Clinton saying she wouldn't be 'strong enough' to lead this country, and then they go and choose someone like Palin. She in my opinion, is actually the combination of what they criticized the Democratic candidates about.

Sure, Alaska is two and a half times the size of Texas in terms of landmass, but give me a break...Alaska has about 700K in population compared to 23+ Million people in the state of Texas. 700K population is about the same as the city I live in. So that comparison is just misleading when people continually say that.

Also, I am not even saying that I have a problem with Palin necessarily, but my issue is the hypocritical behavior displayed by the Republican party in this race. Back up to my points in the first paragraph, choosing someone with minimal experience and who is a woman - both things that they criticized the Dem side heavily for durng the last few months. I have the sinking feeling they chose Palin simply because of her gender. McCain needed something to mix up his campaign because he doesn't have the same appeal of change that I think the Dems have. Really is McCain going to bring a change after he has backed GWB for so long? That is the question in people's minds...definitely in mine.

Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.

    Re: Sarah Palin?

Thank you for your expression of thought. I appreciate it. I am looking forward to the day when we have had a woman in the presidential office as well as a black individual. I cannot vote for a man who, with less than 143 days in Senate, decides to run for the presidential office. To me, he is a pop star candidate- meaning that he looks for the limelight and how he can have it shine on him. THAT is why he chose Biden and not Hilary.

I can't even begin to express my fear that he had chosen Hillary. With her, he had a chance to win, big time. He blew it! He is beginning to alienate alot of people that, initially, fell for him. To me that is wonderful news. I do not know what you mean by hypocritical behavior of the GOP. They are trying to win an election. They run throw different scenarios trying to come up with the best pick. Obama did the same. McCain picked someone who appeals to many people. And everything people say "bad" about her, can be said about everyone. If Obama is a media star, just watch as his poll numbers decline and see his name calling offensive on both McCain and Pa
