There should be a forum category where we can talk about THIS site....

I have a couple of suggestions:

    1. When you create a bran new post it seems like you can't edit or delete it. You can edit or delete a reply to a post but not a new post. We should be able to edit a new post.

    2. The "titles" of discussions are too short in the forums. You should display the entire subject line of a post, not just a few words, on the main forum page. This will entice readers in.

    3. We should be able to submit ideas about this site without having to hunt around and then choose a non-applicable section.

    4. Where is spell-check for forum posts?

    Hope this feedback helps!

    Harold,

First, thank you for the suggestions. They are all very good suggestions for us to consider.

Number 1 - we will definitely investigate this and see if we can modify it.

Number2 - This is more of a formatting and space issue. We will take a look and see how to make more of the title visible because it is a valid point to see more of the actual title of the post to give people more context.

Number 3 - There are two ways right now that our users can submit us feedback or ideas about the site. The first is directly on the homepage with the green feedback button and fill out the feedback form with your suggestions. The second method is actually within this forum either in this forum, the general chat, or even the site critique and feedback. You can feel free to critique this site in that forum as well! Smile

Number 4 - We should be able to make this happen rather shortly. We will review including it in our next release, because without a doubt that would be helpful to our users.

    Again, thanks for the suggestions!

Well I have to say I am impressed!

Kudos to the MySolutionSpot team for (a) reading my post and (b) replying so fast. I am a member of several similar types of sites (such as Dell) and while they claim to be listening, they don't. So thank you! I dislike making suggestions and being ignored......

Re Number 3: I got the impression that this was  place for members to submit their sites, not to talk about THIS site. I think it would be better to separate them,

    Cheers!

Why do passwords have to be case sensitive

When I am in a lazy mood I do not use capitals

As annoying as it may be, it is actually standard practice to require alph-numeric and case sensitive passwords. It is purely a security measure. The more variables you put into a password - the more difficult it is to crack or gain access to by someone who may be trying to access your account. While right now you might think there is nothing critical in your account that would actually cause any real harm should someone crack your password, down the road we may introduce features or functionality that may involve more personal information or perhaps even payment.

So, as annoying as it may be (our group knows because we have to do it for nearly every password we have!) it is actually for the protection of your personal information and the integrity of the site.

I also don't notice anywhere you can delete or remove a profile image you've uploaded. Not that I don't like mine. Smile

We don't have a remove functionality in the exactly the way you describe. Rather than deleting and re-uploading, if you want a new image you can simply upload a new one and it will replace your current profile image.

I agree with Harry ( using upper case to spell his name, although having gone through the hell on wheels that is Citibank online banking tonight...I appreciate how easy it is too sign on to this site)

I don't understand why a reply can be edited but a new topic can't. Makes me leery of posting a new topic if I can't edit it.

Also, he is right about not being able to see much of the topic when browsing the forums. Hope you can fix that.

    Otherwise, I love the forum!

I would like to add another suggestion about useability, if I may.

When you try to click on the "next" at the bottom of a long post (where it says 1,2,3 etc) a popup comes up that covers the navigation of the pages. So I personally have to wiggle my mouse around to lose the popup. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying.

Julie/Harry - We have submitted feature requests for the 'new post editing' and the ability to see more of the forum topic on the homepage. We should be able to address those very soon.

Kirstin - We have submitted that as a bug/feature request and we will swap out the placement of that bookmarking tool so that it doesn't produce the pop-up that you are experiencing when you are trying to go to other pages.

Thanks for the advice all! Keep it coming.
